Canary Islands

The Canary Islands is located off the northwest coast of mainland Africa, 100 km west of the border between Morocco and the Western Sahara. With temperatures ranging from 20 in Janunary to 27 in August it is a popular destination for winter sun. The 5 largest islands Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are the most popular holidays destinations.

Tenerife

The island of Tenerife has variety of interesting places to visit, a wealth of attractions as well as some beautiful towns and villages. Costa Adeje is a high class resort in the south that has a large choice of beaches, clear calm waters, exclusive shops, restaurants and bars. The capital city of Tenerife is Santa Cruz, bustling with history, culture and the arts and it also has lovely beach of Playa de Las Teresitas. The resort of Puerto de la Cruz in the North, is in the beautiful landscape of the Orotava Valley. The old town has quaint cobbled streets and is a perfect place to relax with drinks. Picturesque villages in the mountains and valleys including Masca and G???¡mar and are well with a visit.

 
Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria means'Great Island of Dogs'. Located in the Atlantic Ocean about off the northwestern coast of Africa. The capital of the island is Las Palmas, boasting colonial architecture, shopping, bars and restaurants. This island is called a "Miniature Continent" due to the different climates and variety of landscapes with long beaches and dunes of white sand, and with green ravines and picturesque villages to explore. A third of the island is under protection as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. With temperatures ranging from 20??C in winter to 26??C in summer it is a popular year-round holiday destination. For the best beaches head to Maspalomas and theresort of Playa de Ingles offers some very lively nightlife.

Lanzarote

Lanzarote has 3 major resorts, Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca. Puerto del Carmen is Lanzarote?ÇÖs first resort and closest to Arrecife Airport. The golden beaches stretch out for an impressive 6km along the coast. Puerto del Carmen is probably best known for it?ÇÖs lively nightlife, with a multitude of clubs and pubs. Golfer?ÇÖs don?ÇÖt have far to travel to try out Lanzarote?ÇÖs the latest Golf Course is situated on the outskirts of the resort, the course has spectacular views to Fuerteventura. There are many coastal paths suitable for cycling or walking. Costa Teguise has a rocky coastline that was transformed in the late 80?ÇÖs to offer a selection of sheltered beaches. There is a Golf course, Aquapark and Aquarium nearby. The old square of Pueblo Marinero is very popular, there is a Friday evening market here which gets the weekend of to a great start. Playa Blanca is situated on the Southern tip of the island. The resort is stretched along miles of coast from the beautiful beaches at Papagayo to the lighthouse El Faro. The town centre and old harbour are located in the centre of the resort, from here to the lighthouse are the larger style villas on plots, from the centre to the Marina Rubic??n the property is smaller and closer together with duplex style town houses.

Fuerteventura

With around three thousand hours of sunshine a year, Fuerteventura is the closest Canary Island to the African coast this makes it perfect for year round sun. For the ideal beach holiday you can explore up to 150 long sandy beaches and enormous sand dunes. The main resorts on the island are Corralejo, Morro Jable/Jandia and Costa Celeta. Corralejo is located close to the northern tip of the island. Originally a fishing village, Corralejo has grown rapidly over recent years as both a Resort and a Ferry Port with frequent Ferry services to Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. Corralejo has the best nightlife on the Island with plenty of varied entertainment. Morro Jable lies at the southernmost point of Fuerteventura. The bulk of the resort stretches along the coast from the 'Old Town' northwards along a Palm-tree lined Avenue with Hotels and shops on one side and the Beach on the other. Costa Celeta is located approximately 8 km south of the Airport. The sheltered Artificial Beach is ideal for families and is made of imported Saharan sand (not quite as nice as the natural white marine sand found elsewhere on the island, but pleasant nonetheless). Beside the beach is a Marina where there are many marine excursions on offer as well as other Water Sports. Most of the Pubs and Restaurants are located in the many Commercial Centres along the main avenue.
